WATSONS

So the boyfriend and I dropped by Watsons the night before and I left with a couple of stuff.

Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm

Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening + Hydrating Lotion

In case anyone is wondering, lotion is the Japanese version of toner. I already own Clinique Clarifying Lotion, an exfoliating toner, so why do I require another? Here's why. I use Clinique's with a piece of cotton wool to exfoliate and Hada Labo's directly afterwards to replenish the moisture that may have stripped off as well as to provide an additonal hydration boost. Initially, my mind was set on the Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening + Hydrating Milk but I did quick research online and many users have found it to be too sticky for their liking. A few even went as far as to complain that the product made them look oily in the day. I was very much daunted by these comments. Afterall, who likes to go around with an oily-looking face? Also, many pointed out that the lotion was excellent enough in locking in moisture and thus self-sufficient to be used on its own. Hence, I cemented my decision to switch to buying the lotion instead.

In addition to the above two purchases, I also stocked up on Heme Instant Lift and Whitening eye masks. Yes, this is currently my HG eye mask!

Chanced upon some products which I semi-regretted not buying. This is one of them!

Hello Kitty Hydraulic Acid Gel

According to BeautyKat, "This moisturizer acts as face toner, essence, emulsion and cream to balance your skin's pH, soften, re-hydrate and lock in the natural moisture of your skin to prevent dryness, fine lines and give you dewy look for healthy appearance. This product is in gentle formulation and can be used day and night after cleansing." In my opinion, this product is best used as a sleeping mask. This can be done so by scooping a generous but appropriate amount of gel with the spatula provided and massaging the product into one's face and neck. This is done as the last step in a night skincare routine so as to lock in all the positivity from the other skincare products that have been applied beforehand. The hydraulic acid will be effectively absorbed into one's skin to keep it hydrated throughout the night and looking supple the morning after. The works of it sound very similar to my Laneige Sleeping Pack. Therefore, I did not see a need in me making this redundant purchase unless I alternate between both products weekly. I may return to get it just because of my infatuation with the kawaii packaging. Who can resist Hello Kitty? :)
