Organix Macadamia Oil Intense Moisture Mask & Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy Hydrating Keratin Mask

Tweezerman

I own a green pair of Tweezerman tweezers. To be frank, I have always just relied on cheap SGD$2 tweezers that I use and chuck on a regular basis. However, after trying out Tweezerman, I never went back. It work wayyy better than any other pair of tweezers I have tried before. The price can be quite steep for such a small tool but it certainly was money well-spent.

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

(source)

I use this black mask twice a month to remove any blackheads on my face. I would not say I was highly impressed with the product in terms of blackhead removal but it works alright in unclogging pores. I would probably not re-purchase and am seeking better alternatives in the market - recommendations welcome please!

Burt's Bees Daisy White Moisturising Cream

Soon I will be almost out of this bottle of moisturiser and I am still undecided if I should re-purchase or try another moisturiser on the market. This product works excellently in moisturising but I cannot say the same for its whitening capabilities. I have indeed gotten fairer after using this but it could be due to an array of other factors as well. However, Burt's Bees claims that this particular moisturising cream is 99% natural and formulated without parabens, phthalates or petrochemicals - sounds good already!

Hadanomy Collagen Mist

 (source)

This facial mist smells delightfully like peaches and works really well in hydrating the skin. Initially, I honestly did not expect it to work as finely as it did which impressed me. I purchased it at the beginning mainly for the pretty pink pacakaging (packaging whore right here!) but the product does perform to a standard exceeding my expectations. I am in the midst of testing out other facial mists at the moment so I did not re-purchase. However, I would recommend this to anyone who would enjoy a fruity facial spray.

Soap & Glory Great Kisser Lip Moisture Balm

I am particularly picky about lip balms that I use for daytime, either on its own or under lip products, because I do not want those options to be too heavy or sticky. However, I require lip balms with much thicker consistency for night use, so as to keep my lips moisturised throughout my sleep.

This lip balm is seriously amazing - for night use that is. It may not layer well under other lip products but it works superb on its own in terms of providing moisture to keep lips from drying out. I could definitely notice a stark difference when I apply this product before bed as compared to if I had neglected to do so.

I own the Juicy Peach flavour (as depicted in image above) but in Singapore, it comes in Chocolate Cherry too. I did not fancy the scent of the latter as I am not a huge fan of chocolate-smelling stuff so I doubt I would try that out. However, I saw that Soap & Glory carries Peppermint and Vanilla Bean flavours on its official website and both options appeal greatly to me!

Benefit The POREfessional Primer

(source)

Thumbs-up for this primer, definitely one of the best that I have tried! It goes on smoothly with a silky texture and completely covers any pores, giving your next foundation layer a flawless finish. I used up a mini-sized version that I scored in one of their make-up sets and have already purchased and started enjoying the full-sized one that I subsequently bought from Sephora. Best part? This primer does not clog plogs - at least not for me.

Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation

(source)

Absolutely enjoyed this foundation and will highly recommend to anyone in the market for, literally, a product that will mke your skin look flawless. This foundation is not only long-lasting but also provides high coverage with a smooth finish. It also feels relatively lightweight on the skin, which is always a plus for those who dislike the heavy, sticky texture of make-up on the face. I personally use the shade champagne.

Garnier BB Eye Roll-On (Light)

This is the concealer I am currently using. I purchased this a long time back and have never got around to using it until now.

The coverage is very light so those with major undereye issues may want to skip trying this out as its performance may not be good enough. However, the product does not crease nor settle into fine lines around the eye area so I do appreciate these aspects.

Also, although I typically use a different concealer for blemishes and undereye area, I know there are some people who share the same tool for both. In this case, I do not find this Garnier BB Eye Roll-On suitable at all for concelaing of blemishes as the coverage is way too minimal.

Would I re-purchase? No, as I prefer heavier coverages when it comes to concealer.

Matomage Hair Styling Stick

(credits: vanity-youth.blogspot.com)

What this hair styling stick is supposed to do is keep bits of your hair up, such as the fringe or any hairs that fall out of your ponytail or bun.

I was honestly quite disappointed in this hair styling stick. It does not have good holding power and it stuck bits of my hair together, making them look sticky.

Safe to say, I would not re-purchase and am no longer using this product.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Up till this point, I have only tried ONE dry shampoo brand in the market and that is... Batiste. I highly recommend this dry shampoo for the product leaves no white powder on your scalp and truly refreshes and voluminises your mane. I am deeply impressed and will continue to repurchase.

Bio Oil

According to Bio Oil's official website, this product is a "skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone ... also effective for ageing and dehydrated skin".

Stretch marks are super unsightly (duh!) and hence I was curious to find out for myself is Bio Oil really works to do away with them. I used this in hopes of eliminating or, perhaps more realistically, fading the horizontal stretch marks that I have on my upper thighs. (Fun Fact: You get horizontal stretch marks from vertical growth and vertical stretch marks from horizontal growth.)

In my opinion, it did really fade my stretch marks but, expectedly, did not make them disappear entirely. However, I had also been exfoliating the stretch marks religiously as I heard that works to rid them as well, so I am unsure as which method I should credit my positive results to.

I doubt I will personally repurchase this product but if anyone is interested to give it a go - go for it!

Organix Vanilla Silk Serum

I adored the scent of this hair serum, simply because I am the biggest fan of any vanilla/caramel/toffee/butterscotch/cupcake/cookie olfactions. However, the product does go on too sticky and thus results in strands of my hair clumping together with a "wet" feel post-application. The twist cap was also a bane because it was not secure enough for me to carry the bottle around when travelling - spillage occurred on more than one occasions. I eventually chucked the half-used serum in Brisbane because I did not care to bring it with me to Melbourne for fear of further luggae spillage. I would recommend this product to those who absolutely love the aforementioned scents and do not intend to carry this product anywhere except for home usage.

Kiehl's Line-Reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate

I think this is quite an underhyped product in the entire Kiehl's line. I absolutely enjoyed this eye cream and I think it worked very well in diminishing undereye fine lines as well as generating a moisturising effect post-application. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to keep those unwanted eye wrinkles at bay!

L'Oreal Smooth-Intense 1 Minute Caring Mask

L'Oreal hair masks generally do not disappoint. They typically work rather well and I have no issues when I use them. This product worked fine in smoothing and moisturising my mane.

Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleanser

I previously had a review on Kiehl's Brightening Cleansing Cream on this blog (link here) but I believe that product has been replaced by an improved version - Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleanser. I have been absolutely enjoying the new version of this cleanser and have gone through numerous tubes. I use it on its own or with my Clarisonic. However, do note that a little goes a long way because the product lathers extremely well. Take caution that getting the cream into your eyes may lead to a stinging sensation.

EOS Lip Balms

EOS carries my FAVOURITE lip balms ever - and trust me when I say I have tried and tested A LOT of lip balms in the market. Here are some of the flavours that I enjoy.

EOS Passion Fruit

EOS Strawberry Sorbet

Eco Friendly Strawberry Lip Balm from Evolution of Smooth

EOS Summer Fruit

Fruity Lip Balm from Evolution of Smooth

EOS Sweet Mint

Sweet Mint Lip Balm from Evolution of Smooth

UPDATE: Sophie Monk Whitening Essence

I did not notice any significant whitening effects after going through more than half of this bottle so I chucked it out. As I was in the midst of lessening my skincare products, this was one of my choices for elimination. On a related note, I do not find Sophie Monk to be a hyped-up brand in Singapore.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Macara

I would say that the Scandal Eyes mascara worked better in lengthening than voluminising my lashes. It does not clump and the formulation is not too wet, which is great in my opinion and usually rather uncommon for "western" mascaras. However, given that there are many other better mascaras in the market, I doubt I would re-purchase this.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara

This mascara comes with a special wand that can alter in size depending on which cap you twist. The wand turns smaller when you unscrew the "length" cap and the wand becomes bigger when you unscrew the "volume" cap - The "length" wand is essentially a part of the "volume" wand. The product in the tube is the same, the wand is the only differentiating factor between the "length" and "volume" sections. This mascara tends to clump and smudge really easily, plus it is slightly too wet for my liking. However, it did lengthen and voluminise my lashes fine. Nonetheless, I doubt I would re-purchase.

Marks & Spencer Peach & Almond Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream

I have always pretty much enjoyed Marks & Spencer's hand and nail creams, particularly because I honestly feel that they work well in moisturising my cuticles and I cannot say that of all the other hand creams that I have owned. The fruity scent of this peach & almond hand cream may become a tad overwhelming after prolonged use though.

Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System

I love love love love love Clarisonic Mia. It took me the longest time to jump on this bandwagon despite the huge amount of raves pertaining this device that I saw and heard online but boy, am I glad I finally am a proud owner of it, thanks to my amazing boyfriend for buying it for me. This works super well in cleansing the face through ridding dirt and make-up, tightening the pores and swiftly eliminating any scarring or hyperpigmentation. I promise you - You will witness amazing things happening to your complexion after regular and consistent use. I wish I had bought it earlier so I could have reaped the benefits all this while. So what are you still waiting for? GO OUT AND GET IT! :)

Dior Double The DiorShow Mascara Duo

Initially, I was quite disappointed with this mascara duo. I was very accustomed to the effect of Japanese mascaras that tended to perform very well in holding lashes up and I felt that this mascara did not fare equally good - The mascara smudged on me (I do not know if it is waterproof) and caused my lashes to droop after awhile. However, I gradually grew to enjoy this mascara duo more after tweaking my application method. I used to prime my eyelashes on both sides with the mascara base before going over them with the mascara, now I prime with mascara base and comb through with the actual macara on one eye before doing the other side. I think the mascara catches on to the primer better when the latter has not entirely dried out, hence my lashes look fuller and longer when I utilise this sequence of application as compared to my previous mode of application. However, because this duo is a sample sized version, both products are running out pretty quickly. I doubt I would re-purchase as ths cost is more pricey than drugstore mascaras and I see not much "wow" factor in the performance that will justify me buying these again.

Bioderma Sensibio

(picture taken off Google)

Been chancing upon numerous raves about this product online so I decided to jump on the bandwagon as well. I frequently hear YouTube beauty gurus commenting that this solution is scent-free but I beg to differ, there is a slight smell - not unpleasant though, just a "cosmetic" odour. It does work excellently in removing make-up and leaves no oily residue behind. My only gripe is that I have to utilise several cotton pads at one shot if I were to remove my full-face make-up with Bioderma. (Note: I typically use milk or cream cleansers for make-up removal and those products require no cotton pads.) I have yet to test this on waterproof mascara but it performs very well in cleansing off concealer, foundation, primer and sunblock. It does err on the pricey range and I am currently undecided if I were to re-purchase - probably unlikely since I am pleased with my all-time favourite L'Oreal Gentle Cleansing Milk.

UPDATE: Herbal Essences Smooth Lovin' None of Your Frizzness Serum

Finally finished using up the entire bottle of this anti-frizz hair serum and I must say my initial impression of it has altered. You can find my previous review of this product here. After consistent application, I found that the serum does actually weigh down my hair, albeit a tiny bit, and make my locks feel slightly sticky to the touch. The scent also got overwhelming after daily usage. I would not re-purchase.

All About Lips!

Fekkai Full Volume Conditioner

Am currently past midway with this conditioner. It is definitely a very lightweight product. It does not lather well so some may not enjoy. For its rather pricey cost, I doubt I will re-purchase as I witness no significant volumising effect.

Benefit High Beam

I will be frank here - I do not like High Beam a whole lot. It is largely due to the fact that the product does not show up well on my skin tone. As such, I seldom apply it.

/edit: My take on this product has changed. I kinda enjoy it more now. High Beam provides a soft, luminous glow that is understated but somewhat visible.

Caudalie Hand Cream

This hand cream works alright in moisturising my hands. Initially, I did not enjoy the scent but I got used to it soon after. I have to re-apply quite frequently because the product does wear off easily. However, that means it is not too sticky nor heavy in texture.

EMPTIES

Influenced by Holly Ann-Aeree on Youtube, I decided to come up with my very own "Empties" entry. These finished products were collated from the beginning of January 2013 till present. A brief feedback session following each item summarises my opinions on that particular product.

1. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil
I absolutely adore this argan oil. It is definitely a HG product for me and I re-purchase once I run out. A super worthwhile purchase. I have been through many bottles and I doubt I am going to halt usage of it anytime soon.

2. Organix Cherry Blossom Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shine Finish Spray
I hate this spray. I am aware that I sang its praises in a previous entry here but after the nozzle gave me many problems - it kept getting stuck - I became very much annoyed with it. I had to repeatedly fix the nozzle whenever I use the spray. Such a shame, considering how much I adored the Organix Moroccan Argan Oil and I had high hopes for this product. I also began to find the scent way too chemical-like.

3. Victoria's Secret The Hand Cream
I quite enjoyed this hand cream and I know my mother likes it a great deal too, so much so that she wanted to purchase one for herself as well. I am unsure if Singapore's VS outlets retail this since I bought it in the States.

4. The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash
This was an 'okay' facial wash, in my opinion. The scent was a tad too strong for my liking but it cleansed my face well without stripping natural oils. I did get this on sale so I did not feel like my money went to waste. I would not re-purchase since I very much prefer my Kiehl's option.

5. Yes To Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment Cream
I love this eye cream. A previous entry on this product can be found here. Just a hasty update - I got used to the scent after consistent usage.

6. Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening & Hydrating Lotion
An ultimate HG item that must be included in my skincare routine. This lotion hydrates my face as well as aided in the whitening sector. I have gone through numerous bottles of this and have not adored it any less. My only gripe is that the retail price for Hada Labo's products is SO MUCH cheaper in Japan than in Singapore and I regret not stocking up more bottles of this awesomeness when I went on a holiday to Hokkaido.

7. Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Hair Serum
This is one of my preferred hair serums on the market, though I must admit I have yet to test many. The scent is not too overpowering nor is the product too heavy and sticky. For its price and how long it took me to finish a bottle, I would proclaim it a worthwhile buy.

8. Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Split End Protection Intensive Mask & Herbal Essences Seductively Straight Sleekening Intensive Mask
Not many comments on these hair masks. They worked alright in moisturising my long mane but I did not notice any extraordinarily positive differences. They cost me SGD$4.50 each, which is dirt cheap.

9. Naruko Magnolia Brightening and Firming Spray
My boyfriend enjoys this spray a great deal as he finds that it freshens him up when he is feeling warm from the weather. I spritz this after washing my face, post-gym. I will not re-purchase because it is not exactly a super cheap product and I did not notice any obvious positive difference as well. I believe cheaper facial sprays can perform equally well. Check out an old post on this product here.

10. Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer
This concealer lasted me two years, if not more, and I chucked it out recently due to hygiene purposes, although I did not completely finish the product within. I quite like the concealer. It emits a peachy scent, which is quite rare for a concealer. This product provides light to medium coverage and heavy layering will cause caking, thus a little goes a long way. The best part? It is oil-free. However, I do not think I will re-purchase as I find Maybelline's concealers outperform.

11. Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara
This is a pretty good mascara, though I must say it worked way better in lengthening and defining the lashes than providing a voluminous effect. I would not re-purchase because I am a bigger fan of Japanese mascaras at the moment.

12. Fresh Supernova Mascara
I scored this mascara as part of a duo package from America's Sephora. Take a look at my past review on this product here - my present views still concur.

13. Nivea Night Whitening Body Lotion
I suppose there is not much else for me to elaborate on this body lotion as I have possibly raved about this more than sufficiently on this platform. It is a HG body lotion for me and has brought about unbelievable whitening effects which I myself cannot cease to be amazed by. However, it probably may not be moisturising enough for those residing through the winter season. Nonetheless, I cannot forsee myself switching up to a different option anytime soon.

14. Liese Hair Cocktail
Yet another HG product for me - a wonderful hair detangler spray indeed. I do not have particularly knotty hair but a couple of spritz of this magical product on my long mane will result in super easy, fuss-free combing. Additionally, I quite fancy that the scent of the spray does not linger too long for I do not want other smells to mix with my perfume. I have gone through many bottles of this and will surely re-purchase.

REVIEW: Nars Orgasm Blush

(credits: temptalia)

I have always been captivated with the hype surrounding this legendary blush and I never entirely comprehended how phenomenal it could be until I put this bad boy to good use. I LOVE THIS BLUSH. I cannot vouch that it will suit all skin tones, though that was what I gathered from online reviews, but it certainly works well on mine. It is highly pigmented, hence making it a worthwhile purchase, considering the price. I would recommend everyone add this cult item into their make-up collections. Great job, Nars!
