Rouge Cream Lipstick

Close friends will know that I have been eyeing this lipstick from Sephora (house brand) for quite some time and I am elated that I have finally decided to make the purchase.

The shade is Bewitch Me 24 described to be the colour resembling "deepest cool grape". What makes the lippie cooler is that it carries the scent of grapes!

Other available colours here.

P.S. I am unable to post photos regarding this product because the colour that comes out on camera is not true to its actual tone. Pictures found online are also highly deceiving, the shade turns out brighter and more chirpy than the dark and intense maroon it is in reality.

updates on Urban Decay Eye Primer and Shu Uemura Deepsea Water Mist

Went clubbing last night and decided to be a little bolder and more adventurous in my eye make-up so I ditched the eyeliner and went ahead with eyeshadows. It was my virgin attempt at mixing eyeshadows but I was very pleased with the end result. Should have taken photos to post but it slipped my mind. Anyway, the Urban Decay eye primer really worked excellently in its holding power of my eyeshadows. There was NO smudging and NO creasing at all throughout the night! My eye make-up appeared as good as fresh when I reached home. I think I can finally rest my mind in understanding on the whole hype over this eye primer.

I have discovered another wonderful use for my rather expensive Shu Uemura Deepsea Water Mist! After including Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening + Hydrating lotion into my skincare routines, I no longer require spritzing my face and neck with the mist spray after toning to replenish moisture because the Hada Labo lotion works well to do just that. Now I have found a cooler use for this product! As we all should be aware of, hydrating serums are usually quite sticky to the touch and as a result harder to blend, so I spray my Heme 24hr Hydrating Instant Recovery serum twice with the Deepsea Water mist and blend the concoction with my fingers before applying in circular motion on my whole face. The inclusion of the water from the mist spray makes the hydrating serum more liquidified and easier to massage into the facial skin. This enhances the serum's absorption through penetration into the skin instead of wasting the product by letting it dry up on the skin surface. This new method I self-invented, plus my 5 drops of Hada Labo lotion on the face, 1 drop for both eyes and 3 drops on the neck, complemented in keeping my skin feeling SO MUCH BETTER the whole time!

REVIEW: The Body Shop Vitamin E Creamy Neck Gel

I currently do not face any concerns at all for my neck area and thus am utilising this product more for precautionary measures. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. This neck gel supposedly aids in curbing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as provide essential moisture for the neck, a body part many tend to unknowingly neglect. According to its official website, this product also contains "antioxidant Vitamin E and wheat germ oil" which I believe are beneficial to our skin.

This neck gel smells a lot like shampoo. A strange but apt comparison. However, the scent does not bother me at all. An appropriate amount gently squeezed out from the tube goes a long way so do watch out for extra spillage from accidental splurting. The gel is of a more watery consistency compared to creams and hence absorbs relatively quickly into the skin. Overall, I rate this neck gel 4/5. I will not re-purchase until I am significantly older in age because I think a normal moisturiser and hydrator can combine to sufficiently protect my neck.

It is of utmost importance to take note that when applying anything to the vulnerable neck area, one should ensure to practice light upward sweeping movements towards the face. Any rough tugging or pulling of the thin skin at the neck, or even face, will cause sagging and wrinkling.

REVIEW: The Body Shop Almond Oil Daily Hand & Nail Cream

The Body Shop Almond Oil hand cream is an improvement from my previous pick (Principessa Cattiva Diva silky hand cream). I have yet to fully comprehend the raves about Principessa's hand cream because I find that, apart from its addictive scent, it did not nourish my hands and nails to my satisfaction. On the contrary, Body Shop's hand cream did a fantastic job in moisturising my hands and even cuticles. In comparison, the price of the latter is also much more economical, it costs significantly cheaper for double the quantity. I will surely re-purchase unless I decide to give other options a try.
