The top left compartment contains all my base cosmetics, from my lovely highlighting primer to a small array of BB creams to my HG liquid foundation. I prefer the lightweight formulations of BB creams for times when I do not need too much coverage. Yet, during occasions when I know I will be snapping a lot of photographs, I opt for foundation instead because it will provide a more even and flawless finish that appears more beautiful in pictures. Take note that I used to own more BB creams than this shrunken state but I have since finished a few of them.
The bottom left compartment fits my Sephora and Elf blushes and Muji loose powders. I ought to invest in more blushes but I am always a little lazy to apply them because I prefer to focus attention on my lips or eyes and leave my face as naked as possible. I came across several different brands of cream blushes recently but I am still rather reluctant to give them a go. Cream blushes slightly frighten me because they seem so much potentially capable of causing break-outs than as compared to powder blushes.
The top right compartment holds all my cosmetics for the eyes. There is a glittery purple sharpener for my pearly white crayon which I rarely use to highlight my eyes, a mascara guard, an awesome RMK mascara, a brow and lash comb, two Maybelline gel eyeliners in black and brown with their respective brushes, a brow gel by Benefit, an Urban Decay eye primer and a liquid eyeliner by a Thai brand called Sheene. I love Maybelline's gel eyeliners and they are, as of now, HG-worthy material. I am thinking of getting an eyeliner with felt tip because I am a huge sloth when it boils down to utilising liquid eyeliners. I find that liquid eyeliners require immense accuracy in lining, which can pose as a hassle, and tend to be the most unforgiving when application errors occur. Also, I find the Benefit Speed Brow a crucial item to own for my eyebrows are really thick so this product, with a few strokes, tame the brows by combing them tidily into a nice shape which stays neatly in place for a long time.
The bottom right compartment harbours all my items for the lips. I own a couple of lip glosses, a wider selection of lipsticks, a lip balm with SPF, a lip primer by Too Faced and a lip lock pencil by Elf. The last two products are not really considered neccessities in my opinion but they are certainly useful to have around just in case. Evidently, I do not own too many lip products because I do not fancy the idea of purchasing lip colours that match too closely with one another. I have a bright red, a darker red, a coral, a barbie pink, a deep purple and a nude lipstick as well as a light brown, a shimmery silver and a shiny purple lip gloss. I always take extra caution to avoid buying lip colours that turn out in shades too similar to each other and this self-employed rule applies to other products such as blushers as well. In addition, lip products tend to require being chucked out fairly quickly due to hygiene issues so I see no major need to lay my hands on too many lip cosmetics at one shot. I am practical like that. A lip balm with SPF, however, is definitely a must-have in my stash all the time because lips require protection from UV rays as well, otherwise its original pigmentation will be badly tampered with over time as a result of prolonged sun exposure.
The huge compartment right at the very bottom of the train case is where I store my 88 colour eyeshadow palette which I seldom put to use. I am not particularly big on eyeshadows so I have not been doing this palette much deserved justice. I also stashed my eyelid primer from Elf there so I can replace my UDPP with it after the latter finishes. There are some clean sponge tip brushes I keep in a transparent holder, I previously had several more of these but threw the used ones out the other day. I only use these to apply eyeshadows. There is a pair of tweezers which is my back-up. Last but not least, there is my RMK eyelash curler. I have heard constant raves about Shu Uemura's eyelash curlers and since RMK has always been compared to Shu Uemura, I will bet their curlers are almost on par in terms of brilliance. That being said, I will still probably try out Shu Uemura's if I can just to do a confirmatory comparison.
P.S. I know my collection is super small but I am not a major make-up junkie. I like to store my items neatly and properly so this train case comes in very handy. Perhaps my cosmetics collection may expand in the near future but until then I am genuinely pleased with the humble amount of products I own.
