There are some peeling gels in the market that contain white flakes within their formulations so these clumps ball up upon contact with rubbing on the skin. I tend to steer clear of such products because this evidently displays that those flakes derive from the gel itself and are not entirely dead skin cells being removed. The Laneige Strawberry Soft Peeling Gel is an example of exactly that. As quoted from a review off MUA, "the bits that form when you rub this in are not dead skin cells coming off. It *is* the product; a Laneige sales assistant in Korea even confirmed this for me. Basically when the capsules in the product touch your skin, they burst and then form those scrubby bits that come off...you then massage these into your skin, and that's what gives the exfoliating substance."
However, in the case of Rosette Hello Kitty Apple Gommage Peeling Gel, the white bits that flake off after usage are truly users' dead skin cells and not bits from the product. I can honestly testify to this because I attempted to double-exfoliate and there was NO clumps at all the second time round. Also, this type of chemical exfoliator is much gentler on the face than as compared to physical exfoliators that are generally harsher. Both forms of exfoliation work equally well in cleaning off dead skin to reveal a new skin harbouring a clearer and brighter complexion. My skin did feel a tad dry after usage but for the cute packaging and economical price, I think it is quite a fair trade. I do not know if I will re-purchase though, but this adorable tube should last me a considerably long time. Afterall, I only use a small dallop for my whole face once every week.
