It is no secret to anyone who knows me that I am obsessed with TEA. I make it a point to drink 1 sachet / 2-3 cups of pure green tea every day, usually in the morning. My favourite brand is OJK and their Japanese Green Tea contains chlorella (which I have heard is good for you).
In my quest to find the best green tea (OJK still wins in my book), I have tried other green teas. Clipper's Organic Green Tea does not come close and the price point is also more expensive. However, if you are into organic teas, this may be a good green tea option for you. I support organic F&B, but when it comes to tea I am not that fussy.
I like having non-caffeinated teas at night and so I typically opt for herbal teas. I am quite a fan of Bigelow's teas. However, after trying this box of Assorted Herb Teas, I realised I am not a fan of chamomile or fruity teas.
My favourite Bigelow tea has definitely got to be their Vanilla Caramel Tea. Yes, it is artificially flavoured but it tastes so, so good. I highly recommend any caramel fans out there to try this!
Celestial is another good brand for tea lovers because they carry such a wide range of different teas that are easily available in supermarkets (at least here in Singapore). I tried their Sugar Plum Spice tea out of curiosity and I hated it. Sour tea? No, thank you, not my cup of tea.
I discovered the Yogi brand through Checkinthemirror on YouTube. After finding out that my local organic store carries this line, I purchased some of Yogi teas to try out. Checkinthemirror raved so much about the Tahitian Vanilla Hazelnut tea in one of her videos so that got me super excited, but it was such a letdown! I did not enjoy it at all surprisingly, considering that I am quite the vanilla freak. The tea scent was more herbal than vanilla-ish so that could be one reason for my disappointment. Also, Bigelow's Vanilla Caramel tea had really raised the standards for me and Yogi's Tahitian option did not even come close.
I had also tried out other teas from Yogi, mostly for their proclaimed benefits. Did I notice any positive changes after drinking the Skin Detox and Bedtime teas? No. They do taste not bad though so I would not entirely discredit them.
I have never heard of Stash so when I saw this line of teas at another local organic supermarket, I took the plunge. I have never seen another Red Velvet tea before so I was very excited. As with herbal teas, the tea smells more herbal than anything else. I preferred Red Velvet over Cinnamon Vanilla but both did not impress me much. I would not re-purchase.
I recently travelled around Europe and I found the quaintest, most fascinating tea parlour in Rome called Babington's. Of course I simply had to buy two boxes of their teas home, especially after my lovely afternoon tea experience in that delightful place.
Both teas are excellent and I would be so sad when they finish. Also, I just realised you can order their teas and tea accessories online?! #amazeballs
Because Babington's does not exist in the little island of Singapore, I have another personal favourite tea parlour here - TWG. TWG carries so many varieties of teas from all over the world and the decor of the place is top-notch. Here are some of my favourite teas from TWG.
The first two teas (Grand Wedding and Silver Moon) do taste a tad similar and both are delicious. I prefer the latter slightly more. Alexandria tea is a minty tea so of course I loved it! I cannot wait to try more teas at TWG.
TWG can be too pricey for some looking for an efficient, budget-friendly tea fix. Starbucks saves the day! When I am out at Starbucks, there are two tea options that I gravitate towards. I used to like Spearmint Green Tea. I love mint anything and green tea based teas are my favourite so for a period of time, I thought this was gonna be my regular tea order at Starbucks.
However, I soon found that I very much enjoyed Mint Blend more and quickly made the switch to my newfound favourite. It is now pretty much my staple order at Starbucks.
I also tried Starbucks' Chai Tea and I am NOT A FAN.
