Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream

I was queueing in Sephora the other day to make payment for my purchases and a salesperson was going around distributing a mini-sized version of Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream.

I have only tried this eye cream once and I do not quite like it. The texture is thick and although it does not feel heavy, it is quite difficult to blend nicely.

CandyDoll Liquid Foundation

This is one of the best liquid foundations I have ever used, which means this product gives my all-time HG liquid foundation - Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - a run for its money. When I first tested the CandyDoll foundation, I received so many compliments about how radiant my complexion looked. What is even more pleasant is that I only applied a tiny amount of product! It feels lightweight and smooth on my face and the colour tone fits me perfectly. I highly recommend this liquid foundation but I am aware that there are only limited colour shades available, which is a pity. FYI: Mine is in shade 01.

REVIEW: Herbal Essences Smooth Lovin' None Of Your Frizziness Serum

I love this hair serum! I am alternating between using this Herbal Essences one and my previous Essential Nuance Airy Hair Serum and I must admit that I prefer Herbal Essences'. It smells so good and has a richer texture than Essential's, however it does not feel super heavy nor weigh down my mane.

Scored this hand cream & lip conditioner set from Sephora for merely SGD$12! I have always been interested in trying this brand because I have heard numerous good reviews about products from this particular line and I am glad I finally got the chance to do so at a wallet-friendly price. I have yet to try the hand cream because I am still going through Victoria's Secret The Hand Cream, which I bought from USA and is soon finishing up. The lip conditioner is really good though, not so much moisturising on its own during super dry weather, but effective for layering under lip cosmetics. I carry this all the time in my make-up pouch and before applying any lipsticks or lipglosses, I will ensure to pucker up with the Caudalie Lip Conditioner beforehand.

Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream & Acai Berry Lip Balm

So I got this Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream & Acai Berry Lip Balm set from Sephora the other day. It was such a steal for only SGD$9, given that the lip balm itself already originally costs $8. I have tried the cuticle cream before in the States and here is the link to my review. Although I still apply cuticle oil (click for review) after my self-manicure, pedicure sessions, this cuticle cream tin is easy and convenient to carry around with me in my make-up pouch so I can utilise it as and when I am outside. I am definitely on a quest to improve the condition of my cuticles! As for this Acai Berry-flavoured lip balm, I absolutely adore the smell and taste of it. It is also very moisturising and rather long-lasting on the lips. However, I only adorn this lip balm when I am not intending to layer other lip products over because the lip balm itself is pretty heavy. When I just want to moisturise my lips before application of lipsticks or lipglosses, I switch my lip balm option to Caudalie Lip Conditioner (review coming up next).

make-up routine for school

Basically, I have a super simple, fuss-free make-up routine for school. After my skincare routine, I dab on sun protection in the forms of Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF55 and Kiehl's Ultra Moisturizing Eye Stick SPF30. Next, I conceal blemishes (if any) with ELF Corrective Concealer Palette. Lastly and perhaps the one step I deem most crucial in my personal make-up routines for an occasion is undereye concealing. I find that concealing any undereye darkness instantly brightens the face and adds a tinge of radiance. I do not have particularly awful dark circles but as a college student, I certainly struggle to attain more than sufficient sleep. For now, I am switching between two options of undereye concealers - Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer and Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser. I love both products but the shade of the latter suits my skin tone a tad better. This brings us to the conclusion of my easy and convenient make-up routine for school.

REVIEW: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment

I cannot praise this concealer enough. I had heard numerous reviews online about how wonderful this product is but I had never gotten down to testing it out for myself despite owning it for quite some time now, thanks to the numerous concealers I was utilising at one shot. After trying it out, I was very pleased with the results. The shade that my boyfriend assisted in picking out for me, 20 Light Pale, suited my skin tone perfectly. The concealer does not budge nor smudge throughout the day and stays out finely. I have tried a variety of Maybelline's concealers and although all have proved awesome, this is certainly my favourite! A pity Singapore does not retail this for I purchased it in the States.

Sophie Monk Little Twin Stars Lip Essence

I highly recommend this lip essence to anyone suffering from dry, chapped lips that typical lip balms fail to cure. This is a highly moisturising product that kept my lips well-hydrated through the night. Application does not feel overly sticky or heavy and there is merely a faint but pleasant scent. Additionally, the packaging is absolutely kawaii!

LOVE this concealer palette! Not only is it super cheap, it comes with a free brush for ease of application. I use the shade on the most right to cover any blemishes and the shade on the most left for undereye concealing. The formula is sufficiently creamy and the colour tones fit my needs rather well. When I am going light on make-up, I apply the two aforementioned shades on my face then I am good to go! However, the lasting power of these concealers are not fantastic, merely acceptable. I have yet to find uses for the green and lilac shades.

Dirty Works Go Balmy! Berry Lip Balm

Dirty Works looks like a dupe of Soap & Glory but is a cheaper version of the latter. I do not like this lip balm at all and would not recommend nor re-purchase, it smells and tastes "cheap" (if that is even possible) and only works mediocre in the moisturising sector.

Veet EasyGrip Ready-to-Use Wax Strips (Dry Skin)

 

As some of you may be aware of, I previously used Veet In-Shower Hair Removal Cream but decided to switch to  Veet EasyGrip Ready-to-Use Wax Strips recently. I am glad I made this change because the latter is so much more convenient and efficient. I would like to think I have a pretty high pain threshold so I am not concerned about the stinging that may come along with the peeling of wax strips. The results are also slightly more lasting in comparison. As I find that the finish wipes provided in each package is insufficient, I heeded a friend's advice to purchase an extra bottle of baby oil. It works just as good.

Been chancing across this for several times already and am honestly quite tempted to try it out. Has anyone tested this before? Opinions please? :)

Organix Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shine Finish Spray

I will attribute a thumbs-up to this hair spray! I use it after my hair blowdrying routine to provide additional hydration to my long hair as well as increase its shine factor. I also adore the scent emitted.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

I am no a massive fan of this facial cleanser from The Body Shop. It is indeed as creamy and gentle as the packaging stated but I find that these aspects certainly cater to an older crowd with more mature skin. I would not write this off as a lousy product for sure, rather it was disappointing to me because I probably did not fall under the correct target group to use this. Nonetheless, I have heard about numerous benefits of including Vitamin E in cosmetics and some examples are

• Helps to protect the skin from UV damage
• Improves the skin texture and the moisture content in the skin
• Reduces the severity of sunburns
• Increases the effect of sunscreen ingredients
• Inhibition of lipoperoxide associated skin disorders
• Prevents of melanin deposits
• Potent anti-inflammatory ingredient
• Promotes hair growth
• Improves the stability of cosmetics

Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser

 

I used this foaming cleanser while I was away in Japan and actually quite like it. Although I expected it to be a little drying on the skin, particularly with the dryer fall season there plus the fact that the packaging stated that this product aided in oil control, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was not the case. It cleanses facial skin very well, without leaving it feeling uncomfortably stripped. I would say this is quite a great investment!

Anastasia Brow Gel

 

I prefer Benefit Speed Brow to  Anastasia Brow Gel but I have already used up the former. The latter has a very strong displeasing scent and the formula is a lot wetter in comparison. I know this product is very hyped up which kind of makes me extra disappointed with its performance. Do not get me wrong, it does work fine in keeping my brows well but the aforementioned negative factors were rather off-putting.

Shiseido Tsubaki Head Spa Extra Cleansing Shampoo

I use this as a fortifying shampoo once a week to eliminate any product residue on my scalp and keep my hair healthy and clean from the roots. It produces a tingly feeling post-usage which I find interesting and refreshing.

Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Anti Frizz Serum

I am so glad I invested in this hair serum. I have been searching the market for a good serum that is appropriate for daily use, does not weigh down hair and falls within an affordable price range. This product fulfills all the criterias I set. I apply this every morning after I spray on my Liese Smooth Hair Cocktail to detangle my mane and comb through my locks with a hairbrush. The serum aids in keeping my hair smooth to the touch and eliminates frizziness.

Rosette Hello Kitty Collagen Wash

 

This collagen wash harbours a super sweet smell that I suspect may come across as off-putting for some. However, it does not bother me much although I prefer it be unscented. It does not overdry my skin post-usage, which poses as a big plus point. I use it every morning.

Soap & Glory Scrub Of Your Life

 

I am in love with this prettily-packaged body scrub. It works superb in exfoliating my body. I use it without fail before I conduct in-shower hair removal. This is a mini option but I will definitely buy the full-sized squeeze tube once I run out of product.

The Body Shop 100% Natural Lip Roll-On

 

I am not a huge fan of this lip roll-on from The Body Shop. I bought it simply because I needed another $10 worth to redeem a stamp for my members' card. This product leaves an overly-oily sheen on my lips and does not work fantastically in the moisturisation sector. I will not recommend nor re-purchase.

Bought this for SGD$2 from Daiso! The concept seems interesting to me and I cannot wait to try it out!

Essential Damage Care Nuance Airy Treatment

This hair treatment is thicker and works better in nourishing my locks than its conditioner counterpart but does not moisturise as well as a hair mask typically would. I use this once a week just to further look after my mane.

Kiehl's Brightening Cleansing Cream

I love this cleansing cream! I feel that it deeply cleanses but does not over-dry nor strip the skin of its natural oil. Kiehl's brightening line is an Asia-exclusive production, hence I was unable to get my hands on this till I came back from the States. I have thus far been very impressed with Kiehl's products and look forward to trying more from their brand.

I love love love this eye mask! My HG eye mask used to be Heme Instant Lift And Whitening Eye Mask but this has definitely overtaken ranks. The lifting and brightening effects are highly visible and your eye area does feel instantly refreshed and rejuvenated.

I am very happy with this bronzer. I used it as shading powder the other day and the tone fits my skin colour perfectly. I apply the bronzer with my MAC Large Angled Contour Brush (168). I have heard reviews with regard to how this is the best drugstore brand of bronzer but I am unable to testify to that as this is the first bronzer I have ever tried. However, I would certainly assert that this is a splendid buy given its pleasant result and wallet-friendly price.
